The OSH Act is a framework, it is in the Office for Work Environment regulations that states how the law is interpreted in different situations. According to the OSH Act, all job sites should work continuously to improve the work environment. That work should be a natural part of the companies operation. It is the responsibility of the employer to oversee that the work environment is improving, but it is also important that all employees know of their responsibility in this job.
To work safer with presses and shears
This is the main subject of the class and we process (among others) the regulations AFS 1998:4 Using work equipment and AFS 1998:8 Using presses and shears. The course processes knowledge of safety regulations as well as normal use and daily maintenance and care.
The purpose of the course is to give the participants a basic knowledge of which safety regulations that apply to these machines. After course completion, participants should be able to accomplish daily and weekly supervision on presses and shears, as well as know how safety distances, two hand controls among others are tested.
The goal is to motivate the participants to use the safety equipment in the right way and through that avoid injury and damage.
Each participant receives a conference folder containing about 70 pages of course material.
After completion of the course the participant receives a laminated certificate to prove completion of the course.
The machinery directive (AFS 1994:48)
A short overview describing what applies to machines that were delivered after January 1, 1995. It is especially important to know what documents need to be available and how to test that the machine meet the qualifications. There is poor knowledge of this important subject generally among companies which results in unnecessary costs to correct precious mistakes. Therefore, we have all motivation to know regulations apply.
F We also offer an extended course mainly designed for maintenance staff. This course is best suited for personnel working with troubleshooting and repairs at machine downtimes and have experience in reading electric schematics. In the extension course we dig deeper in systematic solutions, maintenance issues and much more. Knowledge from the basic course is required.
F Olsons Maskinservice also specially compose education regarding tool kits, press introduction and much more, everything after the customers requirements.
